RICHARD MOON
Diploma Osteopathy (UK) | M.O.N.Z. | Clinic Director
Richard graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 1988, shortly before he and his wife Mandy moved to New Zealand.
In 1992 they established the first osteopathic clinic in Warkworth.
Richard continues to promote not only their own clinic, but modern osteopathic practice across New Zealand. Richard strongly believes in the practical implementation of osteopathic principles and treatment technique and attends postgraduate education seminars. He has provided professional education too, specialising in myofascial release.
Richard continues to thoroughly enjoy his work and the interaction this brings at a community level. Now working with his ‘second generation’ patients he has a speciality interest in the treatment of infants and young children.
He has been general secretary of the New Zealand Register of Osteopaths and Vice-president and President of the Osteopathic Society of New Zealand. Richard is one of a team of ‘mentors’ for overseas osteopaths wishing to practice in NZ and is professional advisor to the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand.
Married to Mandy, also an osteopath and partner in the practice, they have 2 children Becky and Chris and live on a workstyle block west of Warkworth. Richard enjoys a wide range of interests which include doing what he is told when it comes to helping Mandy with her horses, tinkering with a variety of old cars whilst pretending he knows what he is doing, challenging health and safety procedures with a blacksmith forge for bladesmithing, and making a noise that he calls music.
