Gait Scan is a diagnostic system, consisting of a pressure pad linked to computer. It was developed by The Orthotic Group to determine the way someone is walking, standing or if they are moving in any way incorrectly. Issues with our feet can affect the entire body and lead to a fundamental imbalance.
Problems with our feet can literally be at the foot of another problem – having a direct effect further up the kinetic chain which can manifest itself as back trouble, hip pain and numerous leg problems.
By stepping across the sensor pad, GaitScan™ immediately identifies exactly where or what the problem is with our walk, and allows the Therapist to generate a bespoke ‘orthotic’ to compensate specifically for that patient’s gait problem.
An Orthotic is a specially designed and made insole, to correct the physical effect of the problem and restore balance to the body.
